3D imaging

3D implant planning

The new implant-centric view has been designed for easier, faster and more precise planning:

• Automatically creates two perpendicular slices of the implant (or segmented tooth) instead of cross-sectional slices
• If more than one implant (or segmented tooth) is placed, it can be selected in the object browser, or by clicking in the panoramic view
• In the Explorer module, the view is automatically focused on the implant when it is clicked from the object browser

3D tooth segmentation

New improvements have been made to the tooth segmentation tool
introduced in version 4.2.0.R:

• Virtual tooth removal – the segmented tooth can be removed by exporting the volume
  (select “Remove segmented teeth from data” and the option to export the 3D volume
  “As new image to database”)

• Segmented teeth are now visible in the pan view

• The verification tool is now also available for segmented teeth

2D imaging

New magnifying glass with filters

The new magnifying glass feature with various filters available helps users examine images in versatile ways.

Improved toolbars

The simplified image processing toolbar with new icons and a soften/ sharpen slider streamlines usability.

Image capturing

Direct image capture to a study template is now possible for Planmeca ProScanner on Windows, as 3rd party devices used via the TWAIN client in Planmeca Romexis.

Planmeca Romexis® Smile Design

The Planmeca Romexis® Smile Design module has been enhanced with multiple changes.

Creating a smile design report

It is now quick and easy to create a report of a smile design case to send to an external dental lab. The report includes:

• Before & After image
• Table with tooth measurements, ratio and shade
• Teeth silhouette

The smile design report is created as a PDF file.

Before & After view

A full screen Before & After comparison can now be opened from the View toolbar with a single click.

Clone & Warp brush

• Editing e.g. gumlines
• Cloning the reference area with the cloning tool
• Mirroring the reference area with the mirror option
• Stretching the reference area with the warp tool

Saving own teeth silhouettes

Users can now modify teeth silhouettes and right-click to save their own design to the library.

Adjusting all teeth

All teeth can now be adjusted simultaneously by dragging from the blue frame.

Copying to clipboard

Users can create a snapshot and copy it to the clipboard
by clicking an icon.

Importing Smile Design cases

Smile Design cases can now be imported from the File toolbar.

Planmeca mRomexis™

The new Planmeca mRomexis™ version introduces numerous new features and improvements to the mobile application.

• The new diagnosis tab enables viewing full diagnosis information recorded to images in the Planmeca Romexis desktop client
• Image diagnoses and comments are now viewable in the activity list – enables easy viewing of all image information
• More intuitive zooming, faster patient list scrolling and more accurate touch areas improve image navigation and touch responsiveness

Planmeca Romexis® Viewer

New features have been added to Planmeca Romexis® Viewer:

• New look and feel in the launcher window
• Faster opening times
• Simplified folder structure
• Saving changes made to 2D or 3D images
